Each year, usually during the spring show season, an orchid society puts on an orchid show. It’s an opportunity for the members to share their hobby with the general public, engage with other orchid hobbyists and see what’s enticing at the sales tables.
The planning of a show begins a year ahead with the booking of the venue for the show and booking the show judges. Not much later begins the work on show promotion. Putting on a show can be an expensive proposition which can only be managed by having suitable attendance.
